Summary
AlertSiren is a utility notification and alerting app. We do not create user accounts and we do not request personal information such as names or email addresses inside the app. Limited data may be processed by trusted third-party providers to support optional analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, in-app purchases.
What we collect & why
1) Usage analytics (optional)
What: app usage events, feature interaction, device type, operating system version, app version, and non-precise region/country information.
Why: to improve app reliability, stability, and features.
How: Firebase Analytics.
UK/EEA: analytics remain disabled until consent is provided.
Elsewhere: analytics may be enabled by default and can be disabled at any time in Settings.
What: advertising identifiers, device information, diagnostics, app information, and non-precise regional data required to provide ads.
Why: to support the free version of the app.
UK/EEA: consent is requested before ads are shown.
Elsewhere: personalised ads may be enabled depending on device settings and regional requirements.
Controls: ad privacy and personalised advertising settings can be changed inside the app.
2) Purchases & subscriptions
What: purchase status, entitlement information, transaction identifiers/tokens, country information, and billing-related error data provided by Google Play Billing.
Why: to unlock subscriptions, premium functionality, or one-time purchases and restore them on eligible devices.
Important: payment card details are processed securely by Google and are never collected or stored by DEVORN.
3) App preferences
What: locally stored settings such as siren choices, notification preferences, themes, sound settings, vibration settings, analytics preferences.
Where: stored locally on your device.
Why: to remember your preferences and app configuration.
4) Notification access
AlertSiren requires Android Notification Access permission to monitor notifications from apps you choose.
Notifications are processed on your device to determine whether they match your alert rules.
The Notification History page is only displayed when you explicitly
open it within the app.
When you use the Notification History page, the app temporarily displays recent
notifications to help you review them and create new alerts.
This information is not uploaded to DEVORN and is cleared when you leave the
page.
5) Crash reporting
What: crash logs, stack traces, app state, operating system version, app version, and device type.
Why: to identify and fix crashes or reliability issues.
How: Firebase Crashlytics.
Important: crash reporting is enabled to help improve app stability and reliability. Unlike optional analytics, crash reporting cannot be disabled.
Notes: crash reports are not intended to include names, email addresses, notification contents, or precise location data.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Consent: analytics where legally required.
Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, crash diagnostics, reliability, and basic app functionality.
Contract: subscriptions, purchases, and premium feature delivery.
Data retention
Analytics data are retained according to Google's standard retention schedules.
Purchase entitlements may be retained while required to provide purchased functionality.
Local settings remain on your device until app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Crash reports are retained according to Firebase/Google retention policies.
Your choices & rights
We do not operate user accounts or maintain databases containing directly identifying personal information.
Analytics: can be disabled inside Settings.
Ad privacy: advertising consent and personalised advertising settings can be changed inside the app.
Advertising ID: can be reset or limited in Android settings.
Local data: can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
Purchases: managed through Google Play.
Children
AlertSiren is not directed toward children under 13 (or the applicable local age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Safety Disclaimer
AlertSiren is provided as a convenience alerting and notification tool only. The app is not a medical device, emergency warning system, life-saving system, emergency services platform, or guaranteed alarm solution.
Notifications, alarms, sounds, vibrations, flash alerts, and other device functions may fail, be delayed, muted, restricted, or interrupted due to operating system restrictions, battery optimisation, device manufacturer behaviour, hardware limitations, network conditions, user settings, silent modes, permissions, or factors outside our control.
Do not rely on AlertSiren in situations where failure to receive an alert, notification, or alarm could result in injury, death, medical harm, property damage, financial loss, or safety risks.
Users should always assess their surroundings and circumstances before responding to any alert, alarm, notification, or instruction generated by the app. Do not take actions that may place yourself or others at risk.
Never use the app in a way that distracts from safe driving, safe operation of equipment, or compliance with local laws and safety guidance.
Users are responsible for ensuring it is safe and lawful to use the app in their environment and circumstances.
Always maintain appropriate backup systems and follow applicable laws, regulations, and official safety guidance.
Security
We use trusted third-party providers and reasonable technical safeguards. No app, notification system, or transmission method is 100% reliable or secure.
International transfers
Third-party providers may process data in multiple countries. Where legally required, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses may apply.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the app evolves. Material changes may be communicated inside the app and by updating the effective date above.
